Man+Woman buying trips are something I most definitely look forward to, especially those that take place in LA. It's a luxury to soak in the California sun while spending mass amounts of money shopping. We hustled hard this trip finding endless amounts of beautiful sweaters, plaids & jewelry. We also came across a stunning new jewelry line, Marida which is California designed and handcrafted - this line is the perfect mix of trendy & delicate. Long days of shopping were followed with semi long nights of cocktails and the best food we could seek out. The Ace hotel rooftop was a place we frequented often where we enjoyed carefully curated cocktails and some beautiful sunsets. While enjoying our Hollywood Vines on the rooftop one evening we came across tickets to AJR and Ingrid Michaelson playing at the Ace Hotel Theatre which we couldn't say no to and thank goodness we didn't. The venue alone was an experience in itself with a huge vaulted ceiling showcasing thousands of tiny glimmering mirrors and ornate detailing. The design of the theatre was inspired by a 16th century gothic cathedral in Spain and my oh my was it breathtaking. Between the catchy pop beats, the lead singer of AJR flailing himself across the stage and the bone chillingly beautiful voice of Ingrid it was an evening well spent.

Another favourite spot would have to be the Seven Grand Whiskey Bar with an overwhelming amount of bottles to choose from. We sipped on Japanese Whiskey while listening to a live jazz band. If you ever get the chance to stop in we highly recommend ordering the Penicillin which is our favourite among many of their signature Whiskey cocktails.

We always make a point of rewarding ourselves with a job well done which in this case was an extra day to pamper ourselves a little. We ventured out to the Santa Monica/Venice area for a day of pure bliss. We started at The Now for an hour of aromatherapy perfection - their spa was decorated with beautiful rustic wood tables, macrame wallhangings and shelving from Tulum, an elaborate display of crystals and plants and the most intoxicating scents of their retail products. This hour in paradise was followed by blowouts overlooking the Ocean at Brambila Salon and shopping along Lincoln Blvd and Abbot Kinney. It's always so fun and interesting to check out the boutiques in that area. Flynn Skye was a favourite stop with its bright white open space filled with stunning dresses.

As most California shops it had a lavish display of desert plants – many hanging of course along with strands of  lights and white wicker furniture draped in mismatched shades of white sheepskin. My upcoming holiday had me on the hunt for that perfect dress and Flynn Skye surely did not disappoint. It was hard choosing between so many beautiful prints and cuts, I actually came close to leaving with multiple pieces and I am still contemplating an online order.  This is another new line we picked up while touring the Cooper building earlier this trip, so get excited because it's that amazing! We ended our day off with restaurant hopping along Abbot Kinney - this entailed gin cocktails and seafood at the Tasting Kitchen, Pizza and a bottle of wine at Gjelina and tequila nightcaps at Wabi Sabi. Thank you Los Angeles for the most amazing stay xx
